How much rain fell in each district, month by month and season by season, against the normal.
What this page shows, in plain words
What it shows

Actual, normal, deviation
Actual is the rain measured. Normal is the long-period average for that district and month. % deviation is how far actual was above (+) or below (−) normal, as printed in the report.
Seasons
South-West Monsoon (June to September), North-East Monsoon (October to December), Winter (January and February) and Hot-Weather (March to May).

Notes and checks
- As printed. Every figure is shown as the report prints it. We do not recalculate averages, deviations, shares or totals. Bars and segments are drawn in proportion to the printed figures.
- District names. The pages use the official names from our district list. The report spells three of them differently (Sivagangai, Tiruchirapalli, Villupuram); the downloads use the official names too.
- Not reported. Where the report prints a dash or leaves a cell empty, we show “not reported” (a blank in the downloads), never zero.
- Checks. On all 663 values (39 rows × 17 columns) the months add up to each season total and the four seasons to the whole year, for actual and normal rainfall, within rounding. There are no mismatches.
- Printed deviations. The printed % deviation matches (actual − normal) ÷ normal for every district. Two State Average cells differ slightly: January 2025 (printed 93.6, our recalculation 94.2) and the Winter total (printed 9.5, recalculated 9.3). They are shown as printed.
