Where the figures come from
Only official Government of Tamil Nadu documents, published by the Finance Department: the Annual Financial Statements, the Demand for Grants books, and the Budget speech and highlights. We do not use figures from any third-party website.
How they are read
- The books print amounts in ₹ thousand. We show ₹ crore (1 crore = 10,000 thousand) and keep the printed amount in the downloads.
- Each year shows its latest stage. The order is Actual, then Revised Estimate (RE), then Revised Budget Estimate (RBE), then Interim Budget Estimate (IBE), then Budget Estimate (BE).
- Codes are exactly as printed. We do not invent or guess a code.
How they are checked
- Every printed total is re-added from its lines. A total that does not match is reported.
- The summary pages of each Demand are compared with its detail pages.
- Each demand’s main heads are compared with the Annual Financial Statements. Differences are published as data issues.
- When a document is wrong or two documents disagree, we keep the printed figure and publish the discrepancy under a permanent ID.
